Tyler 9 1/2 months

Just some pics of Tyler around the house over the last few days. The kid is into everything!! He is the complete opposite of Abby. She was much more cautious at this age than he is. He just jumps right in to everything. He loves the dog water bowl!! No many how times we tell him no.
He loves to laugh and he absolutely loves to eat. He eats anything we do these days.
Paul is very excited about Tyler's first Shark Week on Discovery Channel! He even bought him an official t-shirt for the occasion. He has ocean themed outfits for the whole week!

Random

After Tyler went to bed, the rest of us hung out on the deck for a bit this evening. Abby got to watch a spider (a rather large one I might add) make a web. She got to see several bats fly overhead, and she made friends with a tree frog. She is getting so brave - she even touched the frog. I had to take a pick of Molly so everyone could see her crooked right ear that makes us all laugh.
Poor sleeping baby, missed out on all the fun. I don't think he minded :)

Kids

I had to post some pics of the kids hanging out in the playroom today. Abby was watching Bambi for the first time and then she watched Alice in Wonderland. She was so comfy and peaceful in her chair that I couldn't resist!

Tyler just cracks me up making faces at me thru the french doors. He loves to smash his face up against the glass! Our computer desk sits directly across from the playroom so I can keep an eye on them.

Abby's Room

Paul spent the weekend getting the kids closet organizers together. This means that I finally got Abby's room together!! We are hoping to get her a "big girl" bed sometime this fall. I am hoping for a full sized white bedroom set. At least now all her toys and clothes are organized for the time being. Of course, Molly has found a great place to hang out!

Summer Community Party

We all headed out to the community party this evening. There was a DJ, barbeque pork, snow cones, cotton candy and lots of games for the kids. Abby tried the bubble gum blowing contest, but chewed and swallowed her gum instead of blowing bubbles. Then she went to get her face painted. The lady did an awesome job with the kids faces!! Of course she had to have some cotton candy and a snow cone for the walk back to the house.
She actually tried the potato sack race - but just jumped in place. She was so cute, they let her pick a prize. Of course, she chose the purple headband with the purple hair extensions attached! Then she tried the 3 legged race with another kid about her age. The picture is hilarious because they are trying to go in opposite directions.
Anyway, we met lots of great neighbors and I got to meet some new babysitters!! Hello date night. I wonder if Monday is too soon to call and see if someone is available for Saturday?!

9 Months Old!!

OK, so technically he won't be 9 months old until tomorrow - but I got some great Tyler pics this weekend and had to share a bit early. Tyler is crawling all over the place and pulling himself up to standing. He took some steps tonight while holding Mommy's hands. He is so ready to get up and vertical!! He is also into EVERYTHING! Which is a big change from Abigail at the same age. I really didn't have to babyproof much with her, she kept to her own things. Tyler has already broken off the front of the blue ray player! We are in so much trouble here!!! As many of you already know, he eats anything you put in front of him. He picked up the sippy cup without any trouble either. Tomorrow he moves up to the cub classroom at daycare - which is where all the movers and shakers go until they start walking.

Fun Family Fourth- Greensboro, NC

Paul and Cindy left early on the 4th to drive home to OH. We decided to skip the 4th of July parade downtown, but head to the festival afterwards. It was HOT outside, but we had a great time. Abby jumped around on the inflatables and even climbed inside this big caterpillar thing. I did not think she would ever come out! Turns out it was air conditioned inside. :) To stay cool, we all shared a snowcone (even Tyler). Abby had a heart painted on her cheek and picked out a new "crown" made of flowers with tons of streamers hanging off the back. She actually liked having her picture taken up until the very end of the day. We were all exhausted and came home and took naps in the wonderful air conditioning!

4th of July weekend - watermelon and Science Center

Tyler had his first taste of watermelon at the block party on Friday night. It was a huge hit! He wouldn't let me move the watermelon away from his mouth. Saturday we headed out to the Science Center to show Grandma and PaPa Chase how much fun it is there. It was too hot for most of the animals to be out, but there is plenty to see and do inside.

House pics

I finally took some pics of the house. The kids playroom with the new border not even half finished - I had to order some more. The kitchen, the new bathroom, and the new decoration above the front door. The bathroom had purple wallpaper with a gold design in it. As we get settled some more, I will get some more pics posted.
There was also a visitor in the backyard that Abby had to meet. There is a creek that runs behind the house and we have seen many frogs - but this was our first turtle.
