Duke Gardens

We all went to Duke Gardens today to enjoy the beautiful weather. We picked up lunch at Subway on the way so that we could have a picnic. It was hot out, but we found a beautiful tree to have lunch under. I think it was a Magnolia tree? Abby picked out her new Toy Story shirt to wear, which she loves! She gets to say "Yee Haw" when she wears it! :) Rocket tagged along too. She is much less mopey these days, which is good. I took a great pic of Paul and Abby for Daddy week at daycare. Hope everyone enjoys the Holiday weekend. We are off to Baltimore on Tuesday for the ACSM conference, which Paul will be speaking at!

It's a Boy!

We had another ultrasound last week and we actually got to see that this new baby is going to be a boy! We didn't get too many really good pics because this boy is ACTIVE!! He was moving all over the place.
Abby keeps telling me that there is a baby in her belly too and she lifts up her shirt so I can kiss the baby. She is too cute sometimes.
Paul and I haven't exactly agreed on a name - he wants Octavious Augustus and I want Tyler Scott. Wonder who will win that one? :)

Sesame Street Live

Mom, Rhonda, Owen and Noah came down for a visit this weekend while Paul was off on his annual camping trip. We took the kids to see Sesame Street Live in Greensboro on Friday night. The kids had a blast! They were really great until the very end, when it got a bit crazy. :)
They each got an Elmo balloon and loved them! Noah and Abby fed each other popcorn, and they all clapped and danced to the music.

Bailey Chase (2003-2010)

l

As many of you heard, we had to Bailey to sleep on Thursday May 20th. She had been battling stomach cancer since the beginning of the year. Our sweet girl stayed happy and playful despite how much she was suffering. It was one of the hardest things we have had to do.
Bailey joined our little family in 2004, right after we moved to NC from Dallas, TX. We had been looking for another dog to keep Rocket company. Thanks to a cashier at Target, Bailey found us. She was a perfect fit right from the start!
She loved to play fetch, loved the water, and hated to have her feet touched. She was very loved by every member of this family, and will be missed very much.

We love you Bailey girl!

Sprinkler fun

I broke out the sprinkler today, because the pool was way too crowded! Abby hadn't ever played in the sprinkler before and she had a great time once she got the hang of it! She had to have a snack on the deck afterwards while she dried out a bit.

Zoo

Classes are over for the semester so Paul had the day off today. The good news is that Abby and I were home too! We all headed to the zoo this afternoon for a family day. It was hot out, but a good day! Abby knows all the animals now, and can even tell you what sound they make. She loves to walk all by herself (though she did ride in the stroller occasionally). We hoped she would nap on the way home, but she just wanted to play "peek-a-boo" with her blanket :)

Saturday at the park with Daddy

I had to work this past Saturday, so it was Daddy and Abby day. They walked down to the park, played on the swings and slide - then had a snack before walking back. Abby got to practice her "paparazzi move" for when she is famous! It was 90 degrees that day, so by the end she was tired and cranky.
