New Playhouse

We bought Abby a playhouse from Craigslist a few weeks ago. Paul repainted the roof purple to match the front door. The roof was originally pink but had faded from the sun. We put it back together today, and although it isn't completely finished yet - she had a great time playing in it today!!

Paul's first week of class

Well, it is official! We survived the first week of Paul being a student! We are adjusting to the new routine fairly well. I am now only working 3 days a week (12 hour days) - this puts me at home on the days Paul has late classes. We joined the YMCA so that Abby can get into some swim classes and I can work on getting back to that pre-anesthesia school size! I've learned that the library has "Toddler Time" on Thursdays - so that is where Abby and I will probably be. We have made plans to go to the science museum in Durham next week with some good friends. Yesterday poor Abby had to help Mommy with the laundry - but it looks like she had a good time hanging out in the hamper and underneath the warm towels from the dryer!

Paul seems to be enjoying his classes so far, and is settling back into being a student. He is riding his mountain bike back and forth to campus and working out at the student center 3 days a week. (Now you understand the whole YMCA membership for me) :) It is shaping up to be a busy fall semester!

Croup again

Abby came down with croup over the weekend, so she spent all day yesterday with Daddy and today with Mommy. She loves to lay down on her stomach and color or look at her books - I had to post a pic because she looks like such a big kid when she does it!
I spent the whole day trying to get croupy pants to eat SOMETHING! I was about to give up when she said "apple". I have NEVER seen this child eat fruit of any kind. I took an apple out of the refrigerator and cut her a slice. She looked at me, picked up the rest of the apple and took a bite. Who knew?
