Christmas in Ohio

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! We made the drive to Ohio on the 23rd and came back to NC on the 27th. It was a very quick trip - but totally worth it! We hadn't been home for the holidays in 3 or 4 years. Abigail had a great time with both sides of the family! She loves seeing her "ma-mas" and "pa-pa" as well as the "babies" and Dylan and Ian! She opened lots of presents (some that weren't even hers) she loved to rip off the wrapping paper all by herself! She is learning how to share, although it is not a lesson she enjoys all that well. :)

Silly

Abigail got all dressed up for the holiday party at daycare yesterday. Mommy tried to take a picture of her in her cute Christmas dress, these are the photos I managed to get of Miss. Personality! :)

Santa arrives at the Chase household

Santa came a bit early to visit Abigail! He knew we would be in Ohio on Christmas Day! Abby was so excited when she saw the "car" by the tree as she came downstairs at 6:45 this morning! She opened all her presents by herself for the first time! She loves her Barbie Jeep - but is afraid to press the gas pedal! She just likes to sit in it with Tigger riding "shotgun":)

Santa's cookies

We are going to be in Ohio this year for Santa's big day! Well, Mommy and Daddy talked to Santa and he agreed to bring Abigail some of her presents on Sunday the 20th since she has been so very good this year! Abby and Mommy made some cookies for Santa today and Abby sat and watched them bake. She had to do a taste test and be sure that the cookies were good enough for Santa as well. Three cookies later she was satisfied! :) She set the cookies on the counter with a mug of milk just for Santa before she went to bed.

Snow!!

We had our first snow of the season on Friday! We had a few inches on the ground and Abigail was very excited to go out and play in it. That is until she realized that snow is really cold :) We get snow so rarely in NC that we haven't bought her any snow boots - so she had to make do with her rain boots!

Santa visits daycare

Santa visited the daycare today and Daddy got to be there and take a picture. She doesn't look too happy, but at least she didn't cry this year! She got a piece of candy for being so good! She told Paul that she really liked chocolate! :)

Disney on Ice

Yesterday we all went to see Disney on Ice! Paul has been a bit under the weather but he was a champ and went anyway! Abigail had a great time! She laughed and danced and clapped! We had a pretty good view from the second level.
She was so exhausted after the show that she fell asleep the minute she was in her carseat!

Abby turns 2

Abby turned 2 on December 2nd! She did such a good job of opening her presents! She even blew out her birthday candle, although I think it shocked her when it went out! She got her very own camera and tried to take pictures of her cake. It was a very good time. My mom, and I had our toes done and Abby had her fingernails painted blue "boo" for the occasion!

Natural Science Center Durham

Paul was busy with a paper for class today, so Abby and I headed to the Natural Science Center in Durham. Abby loves the butterfly house there. The first time we went, it was raining so we didn't get to check out the outdoor section. Today was sunny and beautiful!! We checked out the butterflies as well as the dinosaurs! Abby had to wave "hi" at every dinosaur she met. We also rode the train and met the animals. Abby walked all over, I may not even bother bringing the stroller next time. Such a big girl!

Another trip home to OH

Well, Paul is up to his eyeballs in school stuff, so when I had 7 whole days off Abby and I hit the road to visit family in OH again. Thank goodness she is a great kid who travels well. She watched Annie both ways and the second the movie was over she was screaming "Annie" again! I may never get the songs out of my head!! I can't wait until the child will wear headphones!! :)
Abby had a great time pushing her 10 month old cousins around and stealing all their toys! I keep telling her one day they are going to gang up on her and get revenge!
Abby had another sleepover with Dylan and Ian. I hear that her and Ian built a fort to sleep in!! Very cool!

Trunk-or-Treat at Daycare

Here are some pics from Daycare this past Friday. Abby dressed as a Butterfly. She got to ride around in a wagon and get some Trick-or-Treat practice! Her friend Sydney from school rode in the wagon with her. Apparently they kept kicking each other!

Trick-or-Treat!

Abigail spent the day with Daddy while Mommy was at work. Looks like it was an interesting afternoon...she dressed as Tigger for Trick-or-Treat around the neighborhood. Paul said that she walked for over an hour and carried her bag the whole way! She went up to one house, put out her bag, and said "Candy". That's my girl! She is worn out! She never even made into the tub tonight - she came in and said Night-Night! Maybe we will go for a long walk again tomorrow!

"naptime"

So, Abby was taking her nap this afternoon (or so I thought). I went to check on her and found out that she had been a little busy. It seems that silly Mommy left a bin of Abby's long sleeve shirts next to the bed. Abby had so nicely pulled them out and put them in bed with her. Such a helpful girl!

Pumpkin Carving

Abby helped carve her first jack-o-lanterns this afternoon. She wasn't too crazy about putting her hands inside the pumpkins. She kept saying "yucky", so mommy gave her a spoon which worked much better! Mommy carved the pumpkins while Abby told me what to carve. She informed me that they should have 2 eyes, a nose, and a mouth. :) Mommy threw in a tooth for good measure. After we were all done, Abby gave the pumpkins kisses and we put them on the front step. She was very worried that the little ones "hat" wouldn't stay on.

Happy Birthday Paul!

Today is Paul's 36th birthday! Abby and I made a 'Mini" pumpkin cheesecake for him! Abby helped him blow out the candles! Everytime she blew them out she would say "more" and Paul would relight them for her to practice. She should be well practiced by the time that 2nd birthday rolls around!

Just a cute couple of pictures

It is so rare that Abigail smiles for the camera anymore, I have to show off when I can!

Just random..

Just a couple random shots from around the house. Everyone knows that Abby loves piggies! She decided that she was going to sleep with all her piggies last night! She had a couple more Piglets (from Winnie the Pooh) around her feet as well! This morning she tried out her new stepstool in the bathroom and brushed her teeth before school (daycare). She is getting so big it is hard to believe! The jeans she is wearing are 2T and they were way too long and way too big just a few weeks ago! She has decided to start eating again over the last few weeks and thankfully she is starting to put on a little weight again!!
