Natural Science Center

Paul got to take a break from studying today so we all headed to the Science Center to renew or membership and spend the afternoon. The indoor playroom was a big hit. It has doors so it is a nice contained area for Tyler to run around in. He loved the train table and the playhouse. Abby's favorite part is the water table - she always manages to soak her shirt as well.
Then we headed outside where Tyler got to ride in his fancy bike due to his habit of running away from you laughing.
The peacock was showing off, Abby got to brush the sheep, and the Llamas checked out the bike to see if Tyler had any snacks.
By the end of the day Tyler was worn out! He fell asleep with his head on his handlebars and was a big crowd pleaser when we went over the gravel - he never woke up even with his head bouncing up and down.

Newport Aquarium in Cincinnati

We packed up all the kids and headed to Newport Aquarium while in Ohio. It was a great time. The kids got to see sharks, crabs, turtles and tons of fish! Even Nemo and his home (the anemone). They fed some birds, one of the birds thought Abby was food and took a nibble of her arm. She had to show everyone where her bite was (hence the teary eyed photo). She was a good sport and got back in the action and eventually fed the bird. Grandma even had a bird land on her shoulder. The kids ran and played like crazy. They saw some huge crabs that I thought would make a great dinner! Tyler was worn out by the end of it all.

Quick trip to Ohio

Abigail, Tyler and I headed to Ohio to visit family while Paul stayed home to study and get caught up with some things for school. It was a nice drive up - both kids slept a bit and watched movies. Tyler is now at a point where I can hand him a baggie of goldfish and he can eat them by himself. So nice!! Abby is in a booster seat so she can push the button to start the movies. Makes my drive much easier! The kids had a great time playing with their cousins. Abby, Owen and Noah are like the 3 amigos! Poor Tyler just got yelled at alot because he tends to destroy train tracks and tables in a split second!

Snow!

Turns out winter finally decided to show up this year. Abby was so excited to get out in the snow this morning! Tyler wasn't really sure what this nonsense was all about! He loved stomping around in his snow boots though!

It was the best kind of snow ever - just enough to coat the yards, but the streets and driveway are all clear!! AND it is all going to melt away today! I am also very happy that my kids are at the hospital daycare because the schools here CLOSED today! Ahh, life in the south!

Dinner time

We have learned that it is easier to get Tyler to eat dinner if he is at the kids table instead of in his booster at the kitchen table. He really doesn't like to be confined anywhere! We have even better luck if Abby sits with him. However, it is not always such a good time for Abby. She gets kicked, the table moves, sometimes Tyler gets too much in his mouth and gags himself...not the best eating partner :)
We started of dinner with Tyler in his jeans because his shirt was such a disaster already. By the time we finished, he was only in his diaper. Learning to eat with a spoon is really messy work!
He decided he was so proud of himself - he would show off a bit...I had turned around for only a minute when I heard Abby say "MOM!" That kid is going to give me heart attack one of these days!

Clown Day at School

Before I left for work this am I helped Abby get dressed in a pair of pink pants and a white long sleeve shirt with a heart on it. She told me that she didn't want to wear that shirt today, and climbed in bed with Daddy. I figured she would get over it.
Apparently after I left she proceeded to wipe tooth paste on that shirt. Then told Daddy that she was supposed to dress like a clown today for school. Paul decided that she had plenty in her closet to choose from - so him and Abby put together this outfit in the pics.
Turns out she was the only one who came dressed up for clown day. She was the only one dressed up for clown day in the 2 year old classroom a couple years ago as well. At least we are consistent.

Valentines Tea Party

All of Abigail's friends came over yesterday afternoon for a tea party. Abby loved pouring everyone "tea" from her pink teapot. She has been so excited all week long. The girls ate finger foods, drank pink "tea" (Hawaiian punch) did some arts & crafts, and decorated heart cookies with all kinds of sugar!
Tyler even joined in the fun after taking a nap thru the first half of the party.
