Weekend in Tennessee

Paul went on his annual backpacking trip with the guys this past weekend. So, the kids and I packed up and headed to my Aunt's house in Tennessee. My sister and the boys came down as well as my mom. They haven't seen Tyler in person since Thanksgiving (only by Skype). It was a fast trip, but the weather was great and it was nice to be around family. I think Abby must be finally understanding "time out" since she tried to put her cousins in the corner a few times! :) My sister brought down a new bath seat for Tyler - it's a whole different view of the world sitting up!

Homemade baked chocolate donuts

Paul and Abby made chocolate donuts this morning. I got the recipe from another blog I follow. The donuts have greek yogurt in them and you bake them in a donut pan. They turned out really well and Abby loved them. She danced all over the house while they were baking singing about chocolate donuts. She even put on her Rapunzel dress over her jammies for the occasion. Tyler of course, didn't get to eat any but that didn't stop him from having a good time.

Abby self portrait

Abby is obsessed with the camera lately. She loves taking pictures of you when you least expect it (like when you are sleeping). Today she tried her best to take her own picture. This comes as no surprise since her other favorite thing is to sing her new "song" - "I am wonderful, I am wonderful." :) Yes, she did make that up all by herself.

Museum of Life and Science, Durham

It was 80 degrees today in NC. Paul was studying so the kids and I headed to Durham. We hadn't been to the museum in awhile. Tyler had a great time, he just kicked back in the stroller and enjoyed the weather! Abby exhausted both herself and Mommy at the same time. She loved the butterfly house, although she wouldn't let me take any pics of her in there. She played in the sandbox and on the jungle gym outside. She wanted to have her picture taken on the dinosaur (until she actually got on it ). She did such a good job, she ended the day with a lollipop. Too bad, all that running around only resulted in a 10 minute nap for her :)

February

I hope everyone is having a great month so far! We have had some really nice weather the last couple of days and I am very hopeful Spring is really going to come!! The kids have been spending a lot of time outdoors at daycare and they come home exhausted (and Abby is quite dirty) :) I just wanted to post some pics of the kids - they are getting big so fast! Abby just finished her first swim class and will start up again in a few weeks. We are thinking about dance classes in the fall, she is already in gymnastics. Tyler is an eating machine! He eats whatever baby food you put in his mouth. The reflux is getting better and he trying to sit up. He has learned to squeal and yell and thinks it is very, very funny to squeal very loudly.

4 Months Old

Tyler turned 4 months old on Friday!! I just wanted to post some random picks from the last few days. He is getting so big! He "talks" all day long, he also loves to laugh and smile. He is eating cereal and has tried a few new foods. So far he likes sweet potatoes, pears, squash, and applesauce. Not so crazy about peaches. (yes I started feeding him a little early). He is a great eater!!He was up to 16 lbs 6 oz at last weigh in. He goes to the pediatrician next week for his official 4 month visit. Abby loves her little brother, she "shared" her Jessie hat with him yesterday.

Tyler vs RSV

Well, many of you heard that Tyler ended up in the hospital last Sunday with RSV. For those that don't know, it is a mean respiratory virus!! (Especially in 3 month olds!) Anyway, he ended up being admitted from the Pediatric ER so he could get some IV fluids. He also had bilateral ear infections so he got some IV antibiotics too. They brought him a mobile for his hospital bed so he would have something colorful to look at. He actually cried very little (in the picture with his mouth open he is yawning). He laughed the whole time they were taking his IV out and removing all the tape. He just knew he was going home. Paul's mom came in on Tuesday to stay with him for the week. My aunt Sherry and grandma Wagers are coming next week. The pediatrician wants him out of daycare one more week so hopefully he doesn't catch the flu that is going around.

The good news is that he is home and he is doing much better!
