Winter's return

Hello all!
As many of you have heard, we got an Ohio dose of snow here in NC over the past weekend. Just to let you know how truly southern we have become, we do not own a snow shovel! :) Paul shoveled the driveway (all 8 inches of snow) with a garden shovel - poor guy. Unfortunately, I did not get any pics of Abby in the snow - but she did get out in it and had some fun. She doesn't even have any winter boots so her rain boots had to fill in. Afterward, she came in and had her first hot chocolate and a warm bath.
Paul and I just can not believe how quickly she is becoming a big kid. Paul told her the other day there isn't much baby left in her :) It is so amazing to watch her learn about her world and take it all in. Of course, that means editing our language a bit. I was talking to Paul the other day and said that something or other "sucks" and Abby agreed with me " Yeah Mommy, that sucks". Good grief. Could have been worse I guess.

Big Girl Bed!

Abby graduated to her big girl bed for the new year. The first thing she did was crawl right in after Daddy was done putting it together. Then she had to make sure her favorite animals tried out the new bed. She has been such a good girl and hasn't gotten up once she is in bed. She wakes up in the morning and says "Mommy" and doesn't get out of bed until we tell her to. We are very impressed!
She also moves up to the 2's in daycare next week! This is the potty training classroom - Yeah! So hopefully no more diapers soon!

New Pigtails for the New Year

So Abby looked so cute in her pigtails (now that she is finally getting some hair) that I had to post some pics. I hope everyone has a great start to the new year!

Christmas Photo

Hi all and Happy New Year! I forgot to post this pic of Abby, so I am doing it a bit late! Abby's daycare sent us this pic in the mail in a Christmas Card! What a great surprise! She is even smiling at the camera which is so rare these days. I had to share!

Christmas in Ohio

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! We made the drive to Ohio on the 23rd and came back to NC on the 27th. It was a very quick trip - but totally worth it! We hadn't been home for the holidays in 3 or 4 years. Abigail had a great time with both sides of the family! She loves seeing her "ma-mas" and "pa-pa" as well as the "babies" and Dylan and Ian! She opened lots of presents (some that weren't even hers) she loved to rip off the wrapping paper all by herself! She is learning how to share, although it is not a lesson she enjoys all that well. :)

Silly

Abigail got all dressed up for the holiday party at daycare yesterday. Mommy tried to take a picture of her in her cute Christmas dress, these are the photos I managed to get of Miss. Personality! :)

Santa arrives at the Chase household

Santa came a bit early to visit Abigail! He knew we would be in Ohio on Christmas Day! Abby was so excited when she saw the "car" by the tree as she came downstairs at 6:45 this morning! She opened all her presents by herself for the first time! She loves her Barbie Jeep - but is afraid to press the gas pedal! She just likes to sit in it with Tigger riding "shotgun":)
