Tyler 13 months

Tyler is 13 months old and walking all over the place! He has learned some new words. He now says "Abby", "airplane", "yeah", and "bye-bye". He had his first Krispy Kreme donut last weekend and LOVED it! We pulled out his winter hat this morning to try on and realized it was WAY too small. Poor kid - has his Mommy's Charlie Brown head. He is sitting in a "big kid" booster seat he is borrowing from his sister until Santa brings him a blue one :)

Tyler's First Birthday Party!

Today we had a few good friends over and celebrated Tyler's first birthday! I made some cookie monster cupcakes and a cookie monster cake. Tyler took a little bit to really get into the cake, Abby and Cammi tried to help him out by feeding him icing.
But he figured it out - though he did not make as big of a mess as I was expecting. :)

Tyler 10 months

I am so far behind!! Tyler turned 10 months old in August. He is a busy, busy boy! He is into everything! We never baby proofed the house for Abby, she has never been as curious as her brother. Now we are getting a crash course in BOY! His favorite place to play is the dogs water dish followed closely by the little cap cover on the side of the toilet bowl and the roll of toilet paper. These last 2 are Molly's favorites too!

He is such a happy little guy! Even though he has been fighting off an ear infection. The good news is that shortly after turning 10 months old he gave up the paci and the bottle completely. He is now a sippie cup and milk kid! Mommy wasn't quite ready for him to be so big so fast :)

He is now walking with his push toys, although not willing yet to take steps on his own.

Tyler 9 1/2 months

Just some pics of Tyler around the house over the last few days. The kid is into everything!! He is the complete opposite of Abby. She was much more cautious at this age than he is. He just jumps right in to everything. He loves the dog water bowl!! No many how times we tell him no.
He loves to laugh and he absolutely loves to eat. He eats anything we do these days.
Paul is very excited about Tyler's first Shark Week on Discovery Channel! He even bought him an official t-shirt for the occasion. He has ocean themed outfits for the whole week!

9 Months Old!!

OK, so technically he won't be 9 months old until tomorrow - but I got some great Tyler pics this weekend and had to share a bit early. Tyler is crawling all over the place and pulling himself up to standing. He took some steps tonight while holding Mommy's hands. He is so ready to get up and vertical!! He is also into EVERYTHING! Which is a big change from Abigail at the same age. I really didn't have to babyproof much with her, she kept to her own things. Tyler has already broken off the front of the blue ray player! We are in so much trouble here!!! As many of you already know, he eats anything you put in front of him. He picked up the sippy cup without any trouble either. Tomorrow he moves up to the cub classroom at daycare - which is where all the movers and shakers go until they start walking.

Just a swingin...

The weather is so nice today that we all had to spend some time outside. To Abby, this means swinging! Of course, she made sure that Tyler had some swing time as well! He didn't cry, but I am not so sure that we was as enthusiastic as she is about it!

Sitting up!

Tyler is now sitting up on his own!! Aunt Rhonda brought him some great toys to play with now that he is upright. He loves this toy because it plays music and has flashing lights!! He was having a great time playing in his pjs this morning.

Tyler and a funny dog

I was lucky enough to get some cute pics of Tyler yesterday and today. In the first one, he finally mastered the skill of getting the Nilla wafer in his mouth. He loves to chew on them (maybe we will get a couple teeth soon!). In the second he is wearing a new hat that Paul picked out for him at REI today. I think he may like it a little :)

The last picture cracks me up. We love Boppy pillows in this house. Abby still has her purple one and she uses it as a pillow all the time. Paul and I have even been known to take a nap with one under our heads. However, I walked in the other day and found that Rocket loves them too! She was downstairs all by herself, wonder how often she really does this when no one is looking.

Greesnboro Science Center

After swim class today the kids and I headed out to the science center with the Chavarria's. It was beautiful weather and the kids always have fun. It was Tyler's first time seeing some of the animals and his reactions were awesome! He loved the lizards more than anything else. Unfortunately I am not coordinated enough to actually take a pic of him and hold him in the other arm :) - So I missed getting any pics of the facial expressions. The whole family took a 3 hour nap after we got home (even Mommy and Daddy). It was a great day!

Crawling lessons

Tyler was having some "belly time" last night in the front room. Abby decided that she was going to show him how to crawl :) She crawled all over the floor for him to see, but decided that he wasn't going to be able to do it right away. He was having a little trouble making his legs do what she wanted (go figure). So she decided she would just have some of her own "belly time" right beside her brother.

Weekend in Tennessee

Paul went on his annual backpacking trip with the guys this past weekend. So, the kids and I packed up and headed to my Aunt's house in Tennessee. My sister and the boys came down as well as my mom. They haven't seen Tyler in person since Thanksgiving (only by Skype). It was a fast trip, but the weather was great and it was nice to be around family. I think Abby must be finally understanding "time out" since she tried to put her cousins in the corner a few times! :) My sister brought down a new bath seat for Tyler - it's a whole different view of the world sitting up!

Homemade baked chocolate donuts

Paul and Abby made chocolate donuts this morning. I got the recipe from another blog I follow. The donuts have greek yogurt in them and you bake them in a donut pan. They turned out really well and Abby loved them. She danced all over the house while they were baking singing about chocolate donuts. She even put on her Rapunzel dress over her jammies for the occasion. Tyler of course, didn't get to eat any but that didn't stop him from having a good time.
